Life Quest Services for Children Birth to Age 3

Life Quest Early Childhood Intervention offers home based services to infants, toddlers and their families through the New Mexico Department of Health’s Family, Infant and Toddler (FIT) program.  Infants and toddlers from birth to three years old qualify for services if they are at risk for, or have, a medical or biological condition which may influence their development.

These services help families understand their child's special needs in cognitive, communication, physical/motor, social/emotional or adaptive development. Life Quest supports families in advocating for their child and assists them in maximizing each child's lifelong potential to learn and be an active, productive member of the community. These free services are funded through a combination of state and federal funds, including Medicaid and private health insurance.  No family will ever be turned away because of inability to pay.

In 2008, Life Quest Early Intervention received a certificate of recognition from the New Mexico Department of Health for scoring 95% compliance in all annual performance indicators.
Services offered:

  • 17 services provided directly or through referral to other agencies
  • Service Coordination
  • Developmental Therapy
  • Assessments and Evaluations
  • Speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, counseling, and psychological, social and nursing services

Life Quest is a provider agency that administers the services described above for children and families that live in Grant, Luna, Hidalgo and Catron Counties in southwestern New Mexico. On staff, we have a program director, office and billing support staff, Developmental Therapists and Service Coordinators. We contract with Mental Health Professionals and Speech, Physical, and Occupational Therapists to provide a wide range of services to our children and families.

Individualized Family service plans are developed to incorporate the family’s hope and dreams for their child.  Services are provided in natural settings including homes and day care centers.

How to Refer a Child

A child from the ages of birth until his or her third birthday may be referred to Life Quest Early Intervention Services by a parent, family member, or healthcare professional.  Please call the Early Intervention office at 575-388-3681 or toll-free at 800-975-7974.  A Service Coordinator will assist you with referring your child.

If your child is past the Third Birthday

Although we do not serve children past their third birthday, we can assist you with finding local resources including school districts, private and public pre-schools, and licensed daycare centers.
